Mission or Goal of Unit: The mission of the Department of Radiology is to create a world-class department by providing optimal care in a patient-centered environment, providing sub-specialty expertise, providing top quality imaging and therapeutic procedures, and to advance medical education and research, with a vision to create a department that lives up to the “Image of Excellence” mantra and that is recognized as top tier nationally and internationally.
Chief Purpose of this position: This position will provide general diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine imaging interpretation including conventional radiographs, CT, US, and MR with the use of state-of-the-art equipment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Clinical – Provide high quality, sub-specialized imaging interpretations for assigned modalities in support of the referring physicians and patients of VCUHS.
- Teaching - Provide training to medical students, residents and fellows, who rotate through the Department of Radiology.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be ABR certified or have passed the Core Component of the ABR Board Examination
- Must be fellowship trained or experience in general radiology. (A completed fellowship in Neuroradiology, MSK, Cardiothoracic Imaging, Abdominal Imaging or Nuclear Medicine would also be acceptable.)
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
- Candidate must have a current license to practice medicine in Virginia or the ability to qualify for licensure.
- Candidate must be eligible for permanent employment in the USA.
